Services

Spiritualist First Church of Truth services are in person at: 127 Meerse St, Grand Rapids, Michigan. Services are at 11am ET (3pm GMT) and are also on Zoom.us. Zoom meeting opens at 10:45am ET.

We also have Zoom online classes on Thursday from 11am-1pm ET (2-4pm GMT). Classes are only on Zoom. We will try to keep the calendar updated with cancellations. Classes use the same Zoom room number and password below. The book we study changes each year.

  1. 2022: A Course in Miracles
  2. 2023: “Communing with the divine: a clairvoyant’s guide to angels, archangels and the spiritual hierarchy” by Barbara Y. Martin & Dimitri Moraitus
  3. Next: “Leap of Perception” by Penney Peirce

First half of the class is studying the book. The second half if for practice of spiritual gifts.

Healing

Healings are done before services starting about 10:45am ET. If you wish to have a healing please ask someone there for directions and they will help you. Or just sit in a healing chair at the front of the church. Don’t be shy, we don’t bite! “Ask, and it will be given.”

Potluck

Potluck is the first Sunday of every month after the service. Bring a dish to pass, or just show up! Please keep in mind we have several people who are gluten free or must have a low sodium diet.

Installing the zoom app

  1. Zoom now requires you to install their app to use their free service. They have apps for Windows, and cell phones. Please install the app first.
  2. Go to this link: https://zoom.us/download
  3. Download the installer for your operating system by clicking the right Download button. It will download an executable file.
  4. In Windows, find the EXE file that was downloaded and run it. Accept the defaults. For the 32-bit Zoom client software you will need an OS that is 32 or 64 bits. This should work fine on Windows 8, 10, and 11.
  5. That should be all you have to do.

Using Zoom video

Here’s how to connect with Zoom on Windows to have a video church service, so you can have church in the comfort of your own home:

  1. Use your browser to go to http://zoom.us. You do not need an account to use Zoom because we already set up the meeting.
  2. Click the Join button at the top of the browser window.
  3. Enter this meeting ID: 616 443 7361
  4. Click Join.
  5. If you get a window popup that says “Open Zoom Meetings” put a checkmark next to “Allow zoom.us to open links of this type in the associated app.” (Your Zoom app should have been installed already. See instructions above.) Now click the button “Open Zoom Meetings”.
  6. Enter this password: Spirit (make sure the S is capital, all else are lowercase)
  7. A new smaller window should open up. This is the Zoom app running. Enter the meeting passcode here: Spirit (Make sure the S is capital, all other letters are lowercase).
  8. Click Join meeting.
  9. You may have to click “Join with video” to join the meeting.
  10. If the host has not started the meeting you may get a message like “Waiting for the host to start the meeting.” You might be just a little early, or the host may be running a bit late. Just wait for them, you are in the right place.
  11. For help please call Helen at 616-443-7361.

Instructions for other operating systems will be similar but not exactly the same.
